Update

I know it's been such a long time but motherhood has kept me super busy.  I was due July 7, 2014 but my little one was so cozy that he decided to come exactly one week after his due date on July 14, 2014.  I wanted to wait until after I went back to work to start blogging.

Motherhood has been awesome for me.  Aidan is a very calm and happy baby.  He sleeps majority of the night and he is a very healthy 2 month old.  He coos and laughs.  He likes when I sing and dance (even when it's bad).

Other than constantly admiring my baby and working not much else has been happening.  I plan to begin blogging on a regular basis again since I'm pretty well accustomed to life with a baby now. Well I'm glad to be back and thanks for reading.

Oh and Aidan says 'Hey'.

Ridiculous Homage to Summer

Hey

I can honestly say that I'm not a fan of cold weather.   So now that the weather is cooling down I only have the memories of the times summer and I used to share.  So this is what I made for summer...

Well at least I have Fall fashion trends to look forward to but leaving this warm weather behind makes me a little sad.

Getting Graphic

Today's post is an outfit of the day and it features myself, my couch, my favorite tee (who doesn't like the Beatles?) and a pretty messy apartment (yikes and sorry).

Beatles graphic tee:  Walmart
Black skirt:  Forever 21
Belt:  ???? I think it came with a skirt
Watch:  Belks
Shoes:  Dollhouse

I like to play with different looks when I go to work.  Yes, I work in a office but it does not mean that I can't have fun.  Now this probably isn't the best option if you work in a more conservative office but luckily for me I can get away with most looks.  No point in not being fun.  Graphic + pencil skirt = a fun office look.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Now it's time for us to have an even better, more productive, and overall exciting week.

Instagram Life & Update

Drive thru kickin' it

I have a massive addiction to these things.

this one though

At work and bored.
Breakfast of champions
I know that I haven't been blogging lately and I sincerely apologize.  I've been so preoccupied with work that I barely have time to sit down and write but what I have been doing is photographing.  Recently I've been on this huge Instagram kick and it's pretty nifty.  It's a great way for everyone to keep up with loved ones and friends without a lengthy status update or blog post.

Check out my fabulous world

This weekend my boyfriend and I are going on a little mini vacation.  I'll try to keep you all updated with photos and maybe a blog post or two.

Flower Power

Made this today at work when I had some down time.  I drawed it (as the kids say) with my own hands.  Well actually I created it in Paint but it's all the same.  Wow, that is what boredom does to the mind.  Well I like to call this piece Flower Power.  Everyone enjoy the rest of your day.

This Week In Retrospect: Adventure on the Horizon

As I stated in my post welcoming the summer season (It's Almost Here...) I will be going on vacation for a couple of days but don't worry I'll be sure to document every fun thing that I do and everything that I experience.  This week has definitely been very exciting and equally strenuous.  I've come upon a few new endeavors and I'm definitely finding my footing as it pertains to my career/blogging/relationships.  Here's what I've learned this week thus far:

  • Making time for those you love keeps you grounded and sane.
  • Sometimes you just have to step back and let things run their course.  Have faith.
  • Hard work pays off. even if it isn't immediately, something great is just around the corner.
  • When things are not adding up, you should try subtracting.
  • No more comparisons to others and their situations, I am my own biggest competition.
  • I still like Vine more than Instagram video. I'm real I don't need a filter. J/K

So with that being said this Summer seems very promising.  I hope you all have a great first day of summer and an even better weekend.  Hopefully, I'll get to film and upload some video of this vacation.  Hasta luego, amigos.

E-Mail Etiquette

Day to day we are afforded the luxury of many means of communication.  For myself, the most common means of communication (at my job) is e-mail.  Oh, electronic mail how I loathe and love thee all in one instance.   Recently in my workplace I've noticed that e-mail is replacing good old fashioned phone conversation.  Everyday I communicate with clients via e-mail and it never ceases to amaze me how many people throw etiquette to the wind when communicating via e-mail.  So today I decided to share my top 10 rules for e-mail etiquette.

1.   Spell check
Quite frankly no one is going to take you seriously if your e-mails have typos.  It's one button and probably 3 minute worth of review.  Give your words the respect that they deserve by spelling them correctly.

2.  Know your point of contact
I can't tell you how many e-mails I get on a regular basis detailing matters that should be addressed to our CEO.  Sending the e-mail to the correct person is the first part but also know your audience.  Please address your contact with the appropriate level of formality.

This Week In Retrospect: Time to Relax

Sorry everyone I know I haven't posted in a couple of days but it's simply because I been super busy with work, preparing to move, going to school, and life in general.  I have recently started a new workout regime and it's definitely a killer.  It definitely takes time and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle.  No wonder everyone is so unhealthy.  In between work and the gym all I want to do is sleep.  I'll update everyone on that later.  I've definitely been way too stressed.  This week has been one to remember or maybe even one that I'd like to forget.

So what exactly have I learned and witnessed this week.

  1. Living a healthy lifestyle is harder than it seems.  Willpower and support from others come in at an all-time low when you're trying to better yourself.
  2. Balancing life is also tricky but it is necessary.
  3. Getting enough sleep is very important.  I was late to a few appointments because I got a little too friendly with the snooze button.
  4. Never underestimate the power of effective time and financial management.
Okay so this week wasn't full of thought provoking revelations.  I was so busy.  I'm going to work on a schedule that will allow me to maximize my efficiency throughout the day.  Well, this weekend I had time to relax with family and friends.

Until Next Time...

Outfit of the Day: Another Day Another Dollar

Why so serious?!

Cardigan: Target; Blouse: JCPenney; Necklace: Juicy Couture; Skirt: Forever21; Shoes: Wet Seal; Earrings: Charlotte Russe; Belt: Thrifted

The days here have been so lovely and warm lately it's a shame I had to spend majority of the day inside.  No worries it's all for the sake of paying bills and being a 'grown-up'.   I do apologize for the informal setting, I took these photos at work (shh).  I'm working on finding a place to shoot these types of pictures. However, until then please bear with me.
I absolutely love this simple color pairing.  I feel as though I can never go wrong with neutrals.  I absolutely love this belt (as evidenced by the wear and tear)  I kept the jewelry fairly simple aside from necklace (which was an awesome present from a dear friend).  Sometimes I find it pretty hard to pair earrings with this necklace but these simple earrings go perfectly without making me look cluttered.  I did start the day out with heels but later changed into these flats to run errands. I kept my face simple just winged liner, gold eyeshadow, a little highlight, and my favorite lipcolor...Pink Nouveau (MAC).

I plan to go through my closet later and donate the items that I don't wear to decrease clutter or maybe to free up some room for more clothes.  I love shopping.  Who knows?

Steals & Deals: Ross

I am a huge fan of bargains, however, I also value quality over quantity.  Just because it's cheap doesn't mean that I'm going to buy it.  I really have to inspect items and make sure that they're good quality.  So while visiting my boyfriend I decided to do little shopping (aka: girly stuff) while he stayed in and took a nap (aka:  manly stuff).

I ventured in a few stores but nothing really caught my eye.  Eventually I saw that there was a Ross store so I decided to take a look.  Now normally I would not even bother with Ross unless I have the steel-hearted determination to find a bargain.  The stores are just simply too big with little to no organization.  Other shoppers don't take into consideration the fact working retail is strenuous and they just ravage the poor stores (much to my dismay and the employees I'm sure).  However, sometimes on rare occassions you are granted easy access to good finds and this day was my lucky day.  Check out what  I found....

Black Sweater $3.99

Gray Sweater $3.99

Pink Blouse $9.99

I love light weight sweaters even during the Spring because even though it's warm outside the office that I work in stays pretty chilly.  Ross has some pretty good quality clothing.   I think I will frequent them more often.
